Palm Sunday, a funny kind of day!

Hi all,

Hope you are all doing very well and to those who are on spring Break, enjoy! The weather is fabulous, warm and windy.

Espero que todos está haciendo muy bien y aquellos que están de vacaciones, disfrute! El clima es fabulosa, cálido y ventoso.

Sunday was a queer kind of day. We had an early start as we had a lot planned. As you know, we plan but that does not mean that it happens as planned. We had a beautiful ceremony by our wonderful priest. Again, I was planning for the Holy Week and try to practice attending mass at least for that week, especially on Good Friday. Well, I was blown out of my mind when I discovered that whoever decides on the ceremony for the Good Friday has literally decided to cut out the English mass, guess the English Speaking community at this Church is either insignificant or the Priest has too much on his hands. How funny, I thought, Jesus invited us to go to celebrate the Holy Eucharist with him. Now, all plans have changed again. Guess a test of Faith or preparation of what to come in the future?

El domingo fue un día raro. Teníamos un comienzo temprano ya que habíamos planeado mucho. Como sabe, planeamos pero esto no significa que pasa como planeabamos Teníamos una ceremonia religiosa muy hermosa por nuestro maravilloso sacerdote. Otra vez, planeaba para la Semana Santa e intento ir a la masa al menos cada día para esa semana, sobre todo durante el Viernes Santo. Bien, me volvi muy emocionada cuando descubrí que quien quiera decide la ceremonia para el Viernes Santo ha decidido literalmente recortar la misa de inglesa, adivine que la comunidad de Hablar inglesa en esta iglesia es insignificante o el Sacerdote tiene demasiado en sus manos. Qué gracioso, me quede pensando, Jesús nos invitó a ir para celebrar la eucaristía Santa con él y los humanos hagan lo que le dan por su cuenta lo contrario. El año pasado paso lo mismo y creí que era una equivocacion pero dos años seguidos no puede ser. Ahora, todos los proyectos han cambiado otra vez. ¿ Supongo que una prueba de la fe o la preparación de lo que venga en el futuro?

 Well, that did not change our plans for the day but it left me in a pensive mood. We had a lovely couple hours with some wonderful people. I normally check the weather report for the week, unfortunately, I did not. Plans were made without checking the weather report, we had planned on going to the beach. Well, we got all the way to the beach with signs of rain. We were hoping it was just a passover and we were going to the beach. It was sort of funny, although the kids did not think so. We like making sandwich at the beach or do a barbecue. This time we decided to have sandwiches since we really wanted to spend some time in the water.

Bueno, eso no cambió nuestros planes para el día, pero me dejó en un estado de ánimo pensativo. Tuvimos un hermoso par de horas con gente maravillosa. Normalmente reviso el reporte del clima para la semana, por desgracia, no lo hice. Los planes fueron hechos sin comprobar el parte meteorológico, habíamos planeado ir a la playa. Bueno, pasamos todo el camino llendo a la playa con las muestras de lluvia. Esperábamos que era sólo una Pascua y nos íbamos a la playa. Era gracioso, aunque los niños no lo creo. Nos gusta hacer bocadillos en la playa o hacer una barbacoa. Esta vez hemos decidido comer bocadillo ya que queríamos pasar algún tiempo en el agua.

Well, we barely parked the car and the rain came pouring down; like cats and dogs and elephants too.
We were hungry so we decided on making and having our sandwiches. They were very delicious. We enjoyed the rain as it drummed on the top of the car. We had something to drink and then a bit of dessert. It took longer than 30 minutes. For some unknown reason we looked outside and the whole area was flooded with water. Well, I guess after 20 minutes we decided to leave and seek some sunshine. We could have gone to another beach but to have torrential rains pouring down on us, we decide to go home and have some rest.

Bueno, apenas estacionamos el auto y la lluvia vino a cántaros; como perros y gatos y elefantes también. Teníamos hambre por tanto decidimos hacer y tener nuestros bocadillos. Eran muy deliciosos. Disfrutamos de la lluvia ya que tocó el tambor en la cumbre del coche. Teníamos algo para beber y luego un poco del postre. Tomó más largo que 30 minutos. Por algunos motivos desconocidos miramos fuera y el área entera fue inundada con agua. Bueno, creo que después de 20 minutos decidimos abandonar y en buscar de un poco de sol.  Podríamos haber ido a otra playa, pero para tener lluvias torrenciales cae sobre nosotros otra vez, decidimos ir a casa y descansar.

At home, we had some painting to do for Easter so we made most of the time we had. We had bought several figures to stick on the Refrigerator to decorate it with Spring Colors. Every year we do this and we give them away with a handful of chocolate and gummies.

En casa, hemos tenido algunas pinturas para hacer de la Semana Santa así que aprovechamos el tiempo. Habíamos comprado varias figuras para pegar en el refrigerador para decorar con colores primaverales. Cada año hacemos esto y los regalamos con un puñado de chocolate y gomitas.

A little later the rain came pouring down for an hour, we were glad we were safely at home. It was a really tropical day: couple hours of warm sunny day and the next it is a downpour of rain beating on the rooftop. It surely made me wonder what the week will bring , loads of joy and tears of joy!

Horas más tarde llegó la lluvia a cántaros por la mayoría de la noche, nos alegramos al estar en casa tranquilamente. Fue un día realmente tropical: un par de horas cálido y  soleado y el próximo es un aguacero de lluvia golpeando el techo. ¡Seguramente me dejó pensando en lo que la semana traerá, cargas de la alegría y lágrimas de la alegría!
